Big Deal… Want a Cookie?

Plain language, always

Privacy should not need fine print.

This page describes the privacy approach for the Big Deal website and plugin. It is intentionally straightforward.

The Big Deal plugin

The plugin does not contact Big Deal, require an external account, or send telemetry to the plugin developer. Consent choices are stored in a first-party cookie on the visitor’s browser. That record contains the policy revision, time of choice, and selected categories—not a name, email address, IP address, or account identifier.

Optional third-party services

If a site owner enables an integration such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, or Hotjar, that provider may process visitor data under its own terms and privacy policy. In privacy-first basic consent mode, optional vendor code is not requested until its category is allowed.

Aggregate consent statistics

The plugin can store privacy-safe aggregate totals—accepted, rejected, or custom choices—inside WordPress. These are counts, not visitor profiles.

This website

This static marketing site does not include advertising trackers or analytics by default. If that changes, this notice should be updated before those services are introduced.

Your responsibilities as a site owner

Consent software is one part of a privacy program. Inventory the services introduced by your theme, plugins, tag manager, hosting, and custom code. Keep your privacy policy accurate, configure every tag to respect consent, and re-audit after site changes. Big Deal is a technical tool, not legal advice or a certification of compliance.
